Screen Flashlight

You drop something under the desk, the power goes out, or you need to find your keys in a dark car — your screen is the biggest light source you already own. Tap the big button below and your entire display turns into a max-brightness white panel. It's simpler and wider-reaching than a phone flashlight, and because it's a browser page, it works on any device: laptop, tablet, or phone. No app to install, no permissions to grant. Tap again or press Esc to turn it off. Just remember to turn your device brightness all the way up first.

How to use

  1. Turn your device brightness to maximum before you activate the light.
  2. Tap or click the big white button below — the screen goes full white instantly.
  3. Tap anywhere or press Esc to turn it off. Keep the screen at arm's length from your eyes.

Is this brighter than my phone's flashlight?

A laptop or desktop monitor set to full-brightness white typically outputs more total lumens than a phone LED — and it covers a wider area. Great for finding lost items under desks or lighting a small room in a power outage.

Will this drain my laptop battery quickly?

Yes — max-brightness white on a laptop screen is one of the fastest ways to drain battery. Use plugged in whenever possible, and turn it off as soon as you're done.

Is it safe to look at a full-white screen?

Don't stare directly at it for long periods. In a dark room, the sudden brightness can be uncomfortable — squint or look to the side when you first turn it on. Keep the screen at least arm's length from your eyes.
